Patrick Anthony Purcell, 54, of McAlester, Oklahoma died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Fort Smith, Ark.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lisa Anderson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.
He was born July 15, 1958, to James and Mae (Boyle) Purcell in Lansdowne, Penn., and lived in Philadelphia and attended St. Philomena School. When he was 12 years old, his family moved to McAlester where he attended McAlester High School.
He married Virginia Sharber on Feb. 15, 1992 in For Smith, Ark. He was a musician and artisan who worked as a studio drummer, played in many bands, was a paint contractor and did interior design work for corporate restaurants.
He enjoyed playing golf, listening and playing all kinds of music and watching the Philadelphia Eagles. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; brother, James Purcell and wife, Paula, of Philadelphia; a sister, Kathleen Saneman, of Forest Hills, Md.; sons, Christopher Lenardo and wife, Stephanie, of McAlester, and Joseph Bradley Lenardo, of Van Cleave, Miss.; grandchildren, Christen Lenardo, Eythan Lenardo and Hayden Quinton; a sister-in-law, Mary Sattazahn and husband, Ralph, of Alma, Ark.; a niece, Sharon Cassidy and husband, Jeremy, of Forest Hills, Md.; and nephews Mark Saneman and wife, Charity, of Dallas, Texas, and Jeff Saneman and wife, of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mae Teresa Purcell, and a brother, Michael Purcell.
