Louise “Granny Mac” McElyea, 80, of Indianola, died Sunday, March 31, 2013.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Haven Bible Baptist Church in Krebs. Rev. Marvin Dunn will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Born July 16, 1932, to Erma Turner and E.R. King. She was known as “Granny Mac” to many born in Pittsburg County as she worked in the nursery at McAlester Regional Health Center for 25 years as an LPN.
She was a member of Deere's Chapel Full Gospel Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, cooking, drinking Diet Pepsi and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Larry McElyea and wife, Jana, Nancy Conner and husband, Larry, Brent Pilgrim and wife, Brenda, David Pilgrim, Chrissy Moore and husband, Aaron; grandchildren, Deelynn Hall, and husband, Landon and their children, Tyler and Micah, Landy James and their children, Kylie and Jesse; Dr. Jason McElyea, and wife, Dr. Kristin McElyea and their daughter, Lucy; Lacy Hill and husband, Rocky and their children, Rylea, Hunter, River, Rocky, and Allie; Jenny McElyea, Cody Garrison and wife, Magan and their son Kristopher; Julie McElyea, Lacey Reasnor, Rachel Pilgrim, Matthew Pilgrim, Dru Pilgrim, Emily Pilgrim, Nolan Moore, Stacy Moore, and Jeff Moore.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husbands, Floyd McElyea and Maurice Pilgrim; sisters, Druscilla Muncy and Thelma Turpin; brothers JR. King and Leon King.
Pallbearers will be Landon Hall, Greg James, Jacky Charles Turpin, Clay Kemp, Denver Cogburn, and Charlie King. Honorary pallbearers include all of her grandchildren.
