Lorene Annette Collins Nichols

McALESTER — Lorene Annette Collins Nichols, 86, of Eufaula, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Friday at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory of Eufaula..

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Eufaula. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Eufaula. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory of Eufaula.

Michael Fulton

Michael Fulton, 68, of Wilburton, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Latimer County Hospital in Wilburton.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Waldrop Funeral Home of Wilburton.

Billy Joe Glover

Billy Joe Glover, 79, died Friday, July 26, 2013.

Memorial services were Tuesday at Kiowa Church of Christ. Burial was at Kiowa Cemetery.

Born Feb. 4, 1934, he was the son of Ben and Virgie (Petty) Glover. He was one of 12 children.

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he would spend the next 21 and one-half years, retiring as a chief petty officer. During those early Navy years, he met and later married, Joan Louise Dimmitt, on Nov. 15, 1958.

During his Navy career, he enjoyed time spent on the USS Philippine Sea, the USS Ranger and the USS Kittyhawk. Those years would find the couple stationed in places like Hawaii, California, Mississippi and Texas.

After his Navy retirement, he returned to the McAlester area, eventually building a home in Kiowa, where he and his wife had lived since.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Glover, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Vanita Glover, of Ada, and Ben and Elaina Glover, of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Tara Hall and her husband of Norman, of Oklahoma City, Logan Glover, of Oklahoma City, Austin Glover, of Del City, Mikayla Glover, of Oklahoma City, Lorin Glover, of Ada, Lara Glover, of Ada, and Lana Glover, of Ada; two great-grandsons, Jaxson Hall and Harrison Hall, of Oklahoma City; his brother, Marland Glover and his wife, Leona, of Arlington, Texas; his sister, Kathryn Maxwell, of McAlester; one brother-in-law, Marlowe Dimmitt, of San Antonio, Texas; one sister-in-law, Zola Mae Newman and her husband, Roy, of Seattle, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Virgie Glover; two siblings who passed in infancy; two sisters, Frances Stanford and Molly Ball, and five brothers, GT Glover, Benny Glover, Henry Glover, Doyle Glover and Bobby Glover.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

    Heaven opened its gates for Bette Jo Williams, 84, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Bette lived in McAlester, OK, for 60 years. She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
