Gary Lynn Brown, 60, of McAlester, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Sans Bois Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Tommie Parker. Burial will follow.
Services are under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
Born March 3, 1953, in Rose Hill, he was the son of Elmer Brown and Gloria (Lefler) Brown. He grew up in Wasco, Calif., and graduated with the class of 1971.
He began a career in the trucking industry that spanned his entire working career.
He married Tammy Brown and they made their home together in Wilburton until her passing in 2005.
He enjoyed watching football, riding horses, riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. He also enjoyed fishing
He is survived by one brother, John Brown, of Kiowa; one sister, Diana Chance and husband Travis, of Shafler, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Brown and husband Roy, of Tushka, Scott Chance, of Bakersfield, Calif., Chad Brown and wife Shea, of Bakersfield, Calif., Casey Brown and wife Teresa, of Bakersfield, Calif., Sherman Garrett, of Bakersfield, Calif., Cassie Garrett of Spokane, Wash., Jacobie Brown, of Kiowa, Alexa Brown, of Kiowa, AND Gage McCarthur, of Antlers; his best friend, Eric, of Arpelar, and a cousin, Randy Lefler, of Bakersfield, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Gloria Brown; one sister, Brenda Garrett; and one nephew, Todd Chance.
Pallbearers will be James Sloan, Randy Sloan, Tandy Sloan, Chris Sloan, Chad Brown, Casey Brown, Gage McCarthur, Jacobie Brown, and Randy Lefler.
