Nonna Mae Stacks, 67, of McAlester, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at a local nursing home.
Visitation will be held Sunday and Monday from noon until 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m..
The family will greet friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Crowson officiating.
Cremation will follow.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester.
Born January 30, 1946 in Yakima, Wash., she was the daughter of Allen McGuire and Minnie Gertrude (Kanady) Sherrill.
She grew up in McAlester and Savanna.
She worked full-time as a CMA for Colonial Lodge Nursing Home for 20 years and part-time at Heritage Hills Living and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed animals and was of the of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Johnson and husband, Bear, of Morris and Janet McGee and husband, Greg, of Arpelar; son, Jimmie Don Burwell, of Dewar; Godson, Woody Foster and wife, Ashley; grandchildren, Nikki Day, Brittany Pope, Laquentin Daniels, Roger Johnson, Dallas Johnson and wife, Monique, Robyn Golightly, Randi Golightly, Michael Burwell and wife, Skyler; great-grandchildren, Skyley, Jacey, Tré, Breonna, Isaiah, Gavin, Nakona, Wyatt, Isaac, Kaydance, Christopher, Gavin and Lyric.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Minnie Sherrill; infant son, Michael Wayne Burwell; husband, John Stacks; and brother, James Elmer Sherrill.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Howard Kennon, Jimmy Burwell, Michael Burwell, Roger Johnson, Dallas Johnson and Woody “Hot Shot” Foster.
