McALESTER — Donna Gale Cox, 71 Years 9 Months 26 Days of Ulan Oklahoma, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at McAlester Nursing Center.

The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2013.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officated by the Rev. Mike Ross.

Interment will follow at Ulan Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Donna Gale Cox went to be with her Heavenly Father, at the McAlester Nursing Center November 21, 2013.

Donna passed from death unto life smiling at the nurses and all the relatives and friends who loved her so dearly.

Born January 25, 1942, in McAlester, Oklahoma.

She was the daughter of Frank Edward and Mary (Caves) Pickle.

She spent most of her childhood in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved to McAlester in 1960.

She married Jackie White who preceded her in death on January 12, 1972.

She married Ralph Cox on September 30, 1972.

They spent forty-one wonderful years living in the community of Ulan.

She was a member of and dearly loved teaching the young children’s class at Ulan Baptist Church.

She loved planting flowers, fishing, going to garage sales, having weenie roasts, doing crossword puzzles, writing poetry and buying Christmas gifts for all her nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Ralph Cox, of the home; Son, Steve White, of McAlester, Oklahoma; Half-sister, Lynda Thacker and her son, Nate of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Step-sister, Janet Rainwater, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Step-brothers John Rainwater, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Robert Rainwater, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Grandchildren: Brandon White, of McAlester, Oklahoma, Steven White, of McAlester, Oklahoma, Amanda Gonzalez and husband, Alex, of McAlester, Oklahoma; Great-grandchildren: Karlee and Orion Gonzalez, of McAlester, Oklahoma, Teresa Nester, of Clayton, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-nephew, Nick VanStavern of OKC, OK; brothers-in-law: Jim Lusk of Indianola, OK and Winford Thacker of Hot Springs, AR.

The family would like to thank the staff for the wonderful, loving care she received at the McAlester Nursing Center during her stay there.
