Leland “Buddy” Peak Jr., 82, of Savanna, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Eufaula Manor, Eufaula.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pittsburg Cemetery. Interment will follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester.
He was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Savanna to Leland Sr. and Irene (Holt) Peak. He lived in Pittsburg and Savanna his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and being with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Roberta Echelle, of Kiowa, sister, Billie King and husband, Leroy, of Savanna, and brother, Tommy Peak and wife, Joann, of Stuart; nieces and nephews, Gary Mackey, of Denver, Linda Tate, of Houston, Karen Fant, of McAlester, Floyd King and wife, Laura, of McAlester, Debbie Ledford, of Pittsburg, Patty Applegate, of Herrington, Kan., Curt James, of Savanna, Greg James and wife, Gayle, of Savanna, Michelle Hawkins and husband, David, of Wright City, Tina Peak, of California, and Lycia May of McAlester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland Sr. and Irene Peak; sister, Shirley Wood, brothers-in-law, George Wood and Tony Echelle, and nephews Kenny Mackey, Bobby Mackey and Jeffrey James.
