“There’ll be kids everywhere and just a whole lot of fun,” said Dottie Steidley, a representative of Edmond Doyle Elementary School.

Steidley was referring to a fundraising school carnival, which will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 this evening at the school, 520 E. Smith Ave.

The carnival is an annual fundraising event which is sponsored by the school’s Parents and Teachers Association. “The PTA has always worked well here,” Steidley said. “They’ve done a lot of projects for the school that helps all the students.”

In fact, she said, the PTA paid for the school’s awnings, as well as a public address system.

The carnival is the PTA’s major fundraiser for the year, Steidley said.

There’ll be games, such as bingo, a ring toss, a bean bag toss, fish and duck ponds and a basketball toss. There’ll also be a raffle, with raffle winners taking home a 20-inch flat screen television, a coupon for $50 worth of gas or a bicycle.

Raffle tickets cost $1 each and people need not be present to win.

“We hope everyone that can will come out,” Steidley said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Edmond Doyle Elementary School serves students from transitional first to fourth grades.
