    Bass fisherman seeking an alternative to the scorching daytime temperatures should come to Lake Eufaula Cove on Saturday for a nocturnal bass-fishing tournament. Boats will take off at 5:30 p.m. and weigh in at 1 a.m.

    Two fronts are currently being fought between the National Collegiate Athletic Association and its current and former players. In California, post-trial briefs were filed Wednesday for O’Bannon vs. NCAA, a class action lawsuit that argues players are entitled to profits from commercial uses of their images, most notably in video games.

  • Sugar Skulls hosting mashup tonight

    The Mac Town Sugar Skulls, McAlester’s women’s roller derby team, will make their hometown debut with the “Red, White and Bruised Mashup” tonight at 5 p.m. at Route 69 Roller Dome in McAlester.
