PCLL announces All Star rosters

McALESTER — Pittsburg County Little League announced its 2014 All Star teams following Saturday’s Big 13 championship at Deerinwater Field in Krebs. The All Stars will next play in the Oklahoma Little League State Tournament from June 27-30 at LaFortune Park in Tulsa.

While the four youngest age groups will all finish their seasons in Tulsa, state championships by any of the top three teams would mean trips to to their respective regional tournaments. In the Majors, or 12U, division, the Southwest Regional will take place August 1-6 in Waco, Texas.

    Casey Fernandez, a senior at the University of Southern Mississippi and former golfer for the McAlester Buffaloes, made it all the way to the Oklahoma Golf Association’s State Amateur Championship semifinals before losing to Tulsa-Jenks golfer Preston Crawford on Wednesday at The Patriot Golf Course in Owasso.
