McALESTER —

For the McAlester Buffaloes senior class, the 2012 football went by far too fast. And though the season concluded in November, the senior class enjoyed an epilogue of sorts on Sunday at the Southeast Expo Center in McAlester, when the entire team came back together one last time for the Buffs’ annual awards banquet.

“That’s what this banquet is about,” McAlester coach Bryan Pratt said before the approximately 244 attendees. “It’s about honoring our players, especially the senior class.”

Following an opening speech by Quarterback Club president Greg Rolan, who later received a plaque for all his work this season, and an opening prayer from Buffs junior Phillip Jewell, Pratt gave a speech in which he thanked his players, coaches, parents and administrators for all their help.

“I couldn’t ask for a better coaching staff to work with,” Pratt said.

“In my seven years (as head coach), the season that’s been the most enjoyable to me has been this one.”
