Pryor bats timely against McAlester in regional tournament

McALESTER — The McAlester Lady Buffaloes out-hit the Pryor Lady Tigers 7-4 in Thursday's 5A regional softball tournament at Bud Hale Sports Complex. But McAlester scattered its hits over seven innings, while Pryor strung three together in the bottom of the fourth.

Sometimes when you hit matters far more than how often you hit.

The Lady Tigers turned three fourth-inning hits into three runs, powering the Lady Tigers to a 4-1 win over the Lady Buffaloes. The Lady Buffaloes will play the Durant Lady Lions at noon on Friday, with the loser going home.

Because this is a double-elimination tournament and Pryor had also beat Durant on Thursday, whoever wins the McAlester/Durant game would still have to beat Pryor twice on Friday to advance to the state tournament.
