Weekend Update: Savanna wins Tushka Fall Classic

The Warriors also lost 9-1 to Crowder on Monday and next play Buffalo Valley at the Stuart Tournament on Thursday.

The Warriorettes lost both their softball games over the weekend, falling to LeFlore on Thursday, 10-2, and Stringtown on Friday, 13-5. Their Tuesday game at Buffalo Valley was canceled, and they’ll next play at the Kiowa Tournament on Thursday.

The Cowboys have been winning games, but recently every win has been followed by a loss. Kiowa lost to Crowder on Sept. 3, 7-2, and after beating Bennington on Thursday, 14-12, lost to Stuart that same day, 12-7.

Kiowa beat Indianola on Friday, 12-0, but lost to Caney on Monday, 9-1. Kiowa split Monday’s three-way by beating Buffalo Valley, 9-4, and it next plays at the Stuart Tournament on Thursday.

The Cowgirls sandwiched two wins around a 6-4 loss to Caddo on Thursday. Kiowa beat Haileyville on Thursday, 11-0, and recovered from the Caddo game to beat Coleman on Friday, 11-10.

Kiowa softball played Crowder on Tuesday and will play Milburn in the Kiowa Tournament that starts Thursday.

McAlester softball remained undefeated in its district, winning all three of its softball games over the weekend. The Lady Buffs swept a doubleheader at Tulsa Memorial on Saturday, 20-2 and 27-8, then  used two pitchers to no-hit Tulsa Edison on Monday, 17-0.

The Lady Buffs played Durant, another district opponent, on Tuesday.

McAlester volleyball took a six-match losing streak into Tuesday’s home game against Tahlequah. The Lady Buffs lost 3-0 to Wagoner on Sept. 3, 3-0 to Tahlequah-Sequoyah on Thursday, 3-0, and to Oklahoma Christian and Okay at Saturday’s Okay Tournament, 2-0 and 2-1 respectively.

Lady Buffs volleyball also lost to Westville on Saturday, 2-0, and at Piedmont on Monday, 3-0.

McAlester football plays its home-opener against Booker T. Washington on Friday.

The Panthers lost 14-0 and 9-7 to Stuart on Thursday, and no score had been reported for Monday’s game at Stringtown. The Panthers played at Clayton on Tuesday and will next play Crowder in the Stuart Tournament on Thursday.
