Fox Sports to broadcast rescheduled championships

OKLAHOMA CITY —

OKLAHOMA CITY — FOX Sports Oklahoma announced Wednesday a revised television schedule for OSSAA state championship football games postponed due to inclement winter weather forecast for most of the state this week.

The 6A title game between Union and Jenks, originally scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, at Oklahoma State’s Boone Pickens Stadium, will now be televised live on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7:00 p.m. from the University of Tulsa’s Chapman Stadium.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, FOX Sports Oklahoma will televise a doubleheader from Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater featuring the 4A and 5A championship games originally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6.

Anadarko faces Poteau at 1:00 p.m. in the 4A championship and McAlester meets Guthrie at 7:00 p.m. in the 5A title game. Both games will be televised live on FOX Sports Oklahoma.

Steve Marshall (play-by-play), Rod Thompson (analyst) and Mike Ziegenhorn (sideline reporter) will call the action.

FOX Sports Oklahoma also will televise an OSSAA Championship Spotlight special recapping the rescheduled Class B (Laverne vs. Pond Creek-Hunter) and Class C (Cherokee vs. Tipton) title games from Southwestern Oklahoma State. Dates and times for the highlight show will be announced later.

The 3A, 2A and A championship games, originally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14, also were postponed one week. Television plans for those games will be announced after the semifinals that are now set for Friday, Dec. 13.
