No-tap and kids in GBOF summer leagues

McALESTER — The Tuesday Rising Stars league will run for eight weeks starting June 11 at 1 p.m. Each team will have three bowlers ages 6 to 12.

The Wednesday Shooting Stars league will run for eight weeks starting June 12 at 1:30 p.m. Like the Rising Stars, the Shooting Stars league will feature three-bowler teams.

There will also be a Tuesday Adult /Junior league starting May 7 at 6:30 p.m. and running for 10 weeks. Three- and four-person teams can join the league, but each team needs at least one adult and two juniors.

There will also be two singles No-Tap leagues. No-Tap is a faster variation on traditional 10-pin, where a nine on the first ball of a frame counts as a strike.

The Senior No-Tap league has already started, running each Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. The Thursday No-Tap league starts May 9 at 6:30 p.m., and bowlers can earn cash each week through 10-pin strikes on specially marked “money shots.”
