Lake Eufaula Classic All-Star Game set for Saturday

19 local football players named to South team

HARTSHORNE — For 19 local football players, this week’s graduation ceremonies won’t be the end of their high school athletic careers. Elected to the South team for the 2013 Lake Eufaula All-Star Game at Eufaula High School, these 19 will get one more chance to relive the glory of high school football.

Local All-Stars include:

• Canadian: Keaton Standstipher, Dakota Mize, Derrick Mullinks

• Haileyville: Ryan Martin, Jed Dutton, Plunkett Turman

• Hartshorne: Tyler Garrett

• McAlester: Wyatt Beshears, Jase Romine, Tyler Curry, Devin Rolan, Heath Hogan

• Quinton: Michael Payton

• Savanna: Gage Brookshire, Bernie Underwood, Blaine Peters

• Wilburton:  Lane Knight, Jacob Marsh, Jordan Clarke

Hartshorne coach Bill Williams will serve as South head coach, with McAlester coaches Kevin Harmon, Josh Nation, Austin Maddux and James Barr serving as assistant coaches.

The 29th annual Classic takes place at Eufaula High School's Paul Bell Stadium on Saturday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will cost $5, with proceeds going to the EHS quarterback club.
