McALESTER — When the McAlester Buffaloes face the Broken Bow Savages on Friday at Bob Brumley Gymnasium, both teams will try to get back on track. The 5-3 Savages have lost their last three games, while the Buffs have lost their first four.
“They’re always very competitive games,” Buffs coach Jerry McCormick said of McAlester-Broken Bow games on Thursday. He added that in his five previous years as coach, Broken Bow has only beaten McAlester once.
While the Savages may be on a slide, the Lady Savages beat Idabel by nearly 60 points on Tuesday, so they’re sure to bring some momentum with them Friday.
“We have a lot of girls back this year that were not necessarily starters (last year) but got minutes here and there,” Broken Bow girls’ basketball coach Dottie Slabaugh said.
