In Class A, Indianola will be at Moss for the District 12 Tournament, which also features Sasakwa and Tupelo. Pittsburg will be at Bennington for the District 14 Tournament, which also features Caney and Thackerville.
In Class 3A baseball, Wilburton will be at Heavener for a two-team District 15 Tournament.
In Class 2A, Hartshorne will host Liberty for the District 11 Tournament. Savanna will host Crowder for the District 21 Tournament, so at least one local school is guaranteed to advance to Regionals.
In Class A, Haileyville and Canadian will be at Allen for the District 10 Tournament. Quinton will be at Preston for a District 19 Tournament that also features Dewar.
Kiowa will host the Class A District 25 Tournament against Soper and Stonewall.
In Class B, Stuart will host the District 11 Tournament against Stringtown. Indianola will host the District 25 Tournament against Kinta and Butner.
Baseball and softball district tournaments are double-elimination, but only the winners advance to Regionals. Two-team tournaments can require up to three games, three-team tournaments can require up to five and four-team tournaments can require up to seven to crown a district champion.
McAlester’s girls’ tennis team has been assigned to Region I, which Cascia Hall in Tulsa will host on May 5. Del City, Tulsa-East Central, Grove, Piedmont, Skiatook and Tahlequah will also compete in Region I.
McAlester’s boys’ tennis team has been assigned to Region II, which Metro Christian will host on May 12 at LaFortune Park Tennis Center in Tulsa. Claremore, Deer Creek-Edmond, East Central, Grove and Skiatook will also compete in Region II.
The top four finishers at each tennis Regional will qualify for State. McAlester’s entire varsity boys’ and girls’ teams qualified for State in 2013.
