Midweek Update: Buffs tennis in Ada and Bartlesville




The Lady Panthers won the consolation championship of the Pitt 8 Tournament. They lost 11-8 to Haileyville in the first round, earned an automatic bye into the consolation championship and beat Indianola 13-7.

Pittsburg next plays in the Coleman Tournament starting Thursday.

Pittsburg’s golf teams will be at Arrowhead today for a tournament hosted by Savanna.


The Savages lost 8-7 to Indianola on April 1. Scores were not reported for Quinton’s games at the Wetumka Tournament.

Quinton played Webbers Falls on Tuesday and next plays Wetumka on Thursday.

The Lady Savages lost 12-1 to Red Oak on April 1. They then swept a three-way Friday, beating Clayton 13-0 and Whitesboro 6-4.

The Lady Savages played Buffalo Valley on Tuesday and next play Thursday at Stigler.


The Bulldogs went 2-2 last week, starting with a 17-5 win against Canadian on April 1. The Bulldogs beat Wetumka 17-16 in the first round of the Wetumka Tournament, lost 7-2 to Konawa in Friday’s semifinal and then lost 9-1 to Stratford in Saturday’s third-place game.

Savanna played Coalgate on Tuesday and next plays Calvin on Thursday.

Savanna’s golf team will host a tournament at Arrowhead in Canadian today.


The Hornets finished third in their Stuart Spring Baseball Tournament. They beat Coalgate 7-5 on Thursday, lost to Oktaha 13-1 in the semifinals Friday and beat Crowder 6-0 in Saturday’s third-place game.

Monday’s game against Hartshorne was rained out. Stuart played Rattan on Tuesday and next plays in the Moss Tournament starting Thursday.

The Lady Hornets won the Pitt 8 Tournament on Tuesday. They beat Haileyville 11-3 in the semifinals and Kiowa 16-8 in the championship.

Monday’s slowpitch game against Allen was rained out. Stuart played Haileyville on Tuesday and next plays in the Moss Tournament starting Thursday.


The Diggers beat Atoka 11-0 on April 1, then went 0-2 at the Stuart Tournament. They lost 10-0 to Hartshorne in Thursday’s first round and 8-0 to Moss in Friday’s consolation semifinal.

Monday’s game against Oktaha was rained out. Wilburton played Hartshorne on Tuesday and next plays in the Coal Mining Classic in Hartshorne starting Thursday.

The Lady Diggers lost 21-15 to Porum on April 1.

Monday’s game against Stigler was rained out. Wilburton played Eufaula on Tuesday and next hosts the Wilburton Festival starting Thursday.
