Elks Lodge beats Strokers in league finale

McALESTER — Elks Lodge scored seven runs across the second and third innings, turning a 3-1 deficit into an 8-3 lead. Kevin Bond started the bottom of the second with a double to left field, then scored two batters later on an RBI double by JD Wingo.

Wingo scored when Waylon Canon reached on an infield single, the throwing getting away from Strokers first baseman Ashley Vaughn. Canon went to third on the error, then came home on an RBI infield single by Kyle Battles to make it 4-3 Elks Lodge.

The Strokers started the top of the third with back-to-back singles, but Elks Lodge pitcher Bond retired the next three in order without giving up a run. Leland Battles and Ashland Pruitt then singled to start the bottom of the third for the Elks Lodge.

Richie Holloway drove in Battles with an RBI single past second base, and Bond scored Pruitt with another double. Taylor Daniels drove in Holloway with a sacrifice fly, then Wingo tripled to the wall to score Bond and make it 8-3 Elks Lodge.
