The second annual Wild Color Stampede is set for Oct. 5 at 10 a.m.
The stampede is a 5K run through Old Town where the participants are doused with colored powder at stations along the route, according to organizer Ginny Webb executive director of McAlester Main Street.
This year the route will start and finish on the south side of the Whistle Stop Bistro on East Krebs Avenue, Webb said.
“Last year 240 registered runners participated in this 5K color run,” she said.
Proceeds from the event benefit McAlester Main Street and the Old Town Association, according to Webb.
Registration is $45. “Preregister by Sept. 15 for a $5 discount or $120 per family of four,” Webb said.
Registration forms are available at Dottie’s Children’s Boutique at 113 E. Choctaw Ave. and the Whistle Stop Bistro, 2700 N. Main Street.
