McALESTER — The Pitt 8 Conference will hold its fall fastpitch softball tournament Thursday at the Pittsburg County Softball Complex in McAlester. All eight schools — Canadian, Crowder, Haileyville, Indianola, Kiowa, Pittsburg Stuart, Savanna — will play simultaneously in the preliminary round at 3 p.m.
Savanna, the top seed in the tournament and defending champion, will play eighth seed Pittsburg in the prelims, while second seed Kiowa will play seventh seed Canadian. Third seed Stuart will play sixth seed Indianola, and fourth seed Crowder will play fifth seed Haileyville.
The winners of the preliminary games will remain in the winners bracket, with the semifinals starting at 4:15 p.m. Losers of the preliminary games will play in the consolation semifinals at 4:15.
The consolation finals and the third-place game — the two losers of the winners’ semifinals — will take place at 5:30 p.m. The championship will take place at 7 p.m.
Savanna beat Crowder in the 2012 Pitt 8 Tournament championship. Kiowa beat Stuart in the third-place game.
