Stuart baseball coach reflects on State Tournament

By Matt Goisman
Sports Writer

STUART — The Stuart Hornets fall baseball team certainly didn’t want their run through the Class B State Tournament to end after one game, but that’s what happened: a 12-0, five-inning loss to eventual state runner-up Asher last Thursday at Edmond Memorial HS Baseball Complex.

Two Indian pitchers combined to no-hit the Hornets.

“They were probably quite a bit better than we were,” Stuart six-year coach Randy Bowen said.

“We were a little bit tight, a little bit nervous. The ‘deer in the headlines’ saying, that’s kind of what we were like.”
