McALESTER — The Eagle Hill Disc Golf Course, located behind Trinity Lutheran Church in Krebs, has all kinds of new stuff. It has new metal baskets for its front nine holes, each basket a ring of metal chains curving down into a shallow wire-frame basket.
It has nine new holes, built from the woodlands behind the church using nearly 200 man-hours of labor. And it’ll soon have beautiful new signs at each hole, with maps indicating the distance from the tee to the hole, obstacles and other useful information.
The Eagle Hill Disc Golf Club will unveil all of these new elements at its “Fun Day” reopening on June 1. Hoping to draw in people of all ages, the Fun Day will include free food and drinks, disc golf clinics and prizes.
To help spark interest in the reopening, Eagle Hill has partnered with Family Video in McAlester to hold a disc golf-themed night on May 31. Store employees will be wearing Eagle Hill shirts, flyers for the Fun Day will be available and a portable goal will be set up to show off the game.
