McALESTER — A “Big Dog” 8-Ball pool tournament is set at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumors Sports Bar in Krebs. “We are expecting a full house,” said tournament organizer Rachel Petersen. “We are also expecting some very strong players form out of town to come into town and join the tournament.”

The cost to enter the tournament is $50 and Rumors is adding $300 to the pot. “There will also be a player auction — a calcutta,” Petersen said. “Anyone interested can come and play, and those who don’t want to play can come watch. I know there will be some great matches.”

Petersen said there will be a 50/50 raffle, lunch food, pies and other fundraising activities. “We are hosting this tournament to help raise money to send our first all-women’s McAlester pool team to the Oklahoma State Billiards Congress of America state tournament in Miami, Okla., in April.”
