McALESTER — Most bowlers will probably go their entire lives without bowling a perfect 300.
Doug Hummel, a 47-year-old sales associate at Beale Tire in McAlester, bowled two in one night.
Hummel strung together 24 consecutive strikes during league play on Monday at Great Balls of Fire, putting together back-to-back 300s in his second and third games of the night.
“It’s like you’re dividing by zero,” Hummel said of his accomplishments on Tuesday. “It doesn’t even make sense.”
Because Hummel bowls left-handed, there were fewer balls other than his own moving the oil around on the left-side of the lane. Once Hummel got into rhythm, the same bowling motions produced the same result every time.
