Future Stars camp coming in June

McALESTER — Future Stars Athletic Training will offer a four-day basketball camp from June 3-6 for children in kindergarten through the eighth grade. The camp will cost $50 and will take place at 1609 N. Strong Blvd., Suite 500B.

The camp will be broken up into three age groups, with each group getting one hour of training each day. Kindergarten through second grade will go from 9-10 a.m.

Third- through sixth-grade campers will practice from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and seventh- and eighth-grade campers will go from 12-1 p.m. Campers will work on many different elements of basketball, including dribbling and ball-handling, perimeter shooting, defense, strength and agility.

Campers will also get to work with the Noah Select System, a machine that can analyze shots for arc and depth and then display the results graphically on a laptop. This allows players to fine-tune their shooting mechanics and build muscle memory through repetition.

All players must bring their own basketball. Parents can sign up campers at www.futurestarsathletictraining.com.

Former McAlester Buffalo basketball player and FSAT founder Will Holiman will run the camp. Questions, call Holiman at 918-916-2282
