McALESTER — The return of baseball and more hours of daylight are two sure-fire ways to tell when winter has finally given way to spring.
Another way to tell: the beginning of the Tuesday Night Jackpot fishing season at Eufaula Cove.
The official season starts April 2, but a warm-up night will take place Tuesday at Eufaula Cover starting at 5:30 p.m.
“This is just to get everybody out,” TNJ organizer and local angler Lester "Ripper" Wray said. “We’re not keeping points for how many you fish. We’re not keeping the weights.”
The two-bass, warm-up tournament will cost $10 to enter, and Wray said 100 percent of the buy-ins will go to the angler with the highest combined weight of his or her two fish.
