McALESTER — The installation of an artificial field at Hook Eales Stadium might make for better football come the fall, but it’s wreaking havoc with McAlester’s spring sports. The track team has had to travel as far as Wilburton for a usable practice location.
While McAlester’s first soccer team will continue practicing behind Will Rogers Elementary, its home games have been moved to the football field at Savanna High School.
McAlester has four home games left in its inaugural soccer season:
• March 26 against Victory Christian at 5 p.m.;
• April 4 against Shawnee JV at 6 p.m.;
• April 9 against Poteau at 5:30 p.m.; and
• April 23 against Hilldale JV at 5:30 p.m.
The girls will play first in each game, followed by the boys.
