A McAlester High School varsity football player has been charged with four counts of first degree rape, court records state.
Joshua Andrew Peckio, 18, of McAlester was charged Friday in Pittsburg County District Court with four counts of first degree rape for having sex with a 13-year-old girl court records state.
Peckio was a starting lineman with the McAlester Buffaloes.
According to a court affidavit filed in the case, the alleged victim wrote a note to her friend stating that she “was scared she might be pregnant.”
The note was found by the friend’s parent and a family member of the alleged victim was notified, the affidavit states.
The alleged rape was reported to police in November by youth pastor.
The alleged incidents of rape allegedly occurred in Oct. while Peckio was living away from home.
Peckio is being held at Pittsburg County Jail in lieu of $150,000.
If convicted of the charges against him Peckio faces up to 60 years in prison.
