McALESTER — The McAlester Buffsaloe and Lady Buffs each won two events and grabbed second place in two more, powering McAlester to team wins in both the boys’ and girls’ competition at the McAlester Burn Out on Thursday. The boys’ competition took place at the Bob Brumley Gymnasium tennis courts, while the girls’ competition took place at Chadick Park and the McAlester Country Club.
For the Buffs, Ngoc Nguyen won in one-singles, and Chance Sistrunk won in two-singles. Taeam Kang and Sam DeNike took second in one-doubles, and Eric Borengasser and Zach Dugan took second in two-doubles.
For the Lady Buffs, Loretta Medina and Jennifer Amy won in one-doubles, and Parker Tidwell and Sydney Creager won in two-doubles. Krystal Hixson took second in one-singles, and Precious Crawford took second in two-singles.
This is McAlester’s third successful large competition at home this season. The Buffs won both the Freeze Out on March 1 and the Team Tournament on March 28, while the Lady Buffs also won the Freeze Out and finished two seeds higher than they started at the Team Tournament.
