Bowling Bulletin: Beer Money leads Men’s League

McALESTER — Your weekly update of bowling league action at Great Balls of Fire in McAlester. Data submitted by league coordinator Rita Sanders before league action Wednesday.

Without a serious, multi-week (or multi-month) slump, What’s A Strike should have no problems winning the Monday Housewives League, having gone 4-0 last week against the Pin Busters to push its record to 35-1.

Such a slump struck High Flush in last week’s Monday Men’s League. Facing 14th-ranked McAlester Fire, High Flush went 0-4, losing all three games by an average 103.4 pins.

“Some weeks you have it, some you don’t,” Morris said Wednesday. “It’s weird how it happens. You can come out and bowl a (score of) 170, and then bowl two 250s.”

High Flush’s struggles allowed Beer Money to jump into first place after a 3-1 week against Westbrook Construction — another bottom-five team in the league. Beer Money now leads with a 26-10 record, while High Flush trails by one point.

Beer Money will defend its lead against sixth-ranked Red Dirt Five in Week 10, while High Flush will face third-ranked Alley Katz, who picked up three points via a bye-week.
