McALESTER — After weeks of conditioning interspersed with occasional football camps away from home, the McAlester Buffaloes finally got to spend some time on their home turf.
Football practice started Monday at Hook Eales Stadium.
The Buffs spent their first four days of practice in helmets and T-shirts, running through the various offensive and defensive plays they’ll run this season. They start full-pads practice today.
The Buffs’ Black and Gold Scrimmage starts Saturday at 10 a.m., when the freshman and junior varsity squads face off. Two varsity squads play each other at 11 a.m., and Pratt said this year he’ll keep his top offensive players together so quarterback Dalton Wood can get an extra hour in with the receivers he’ll have this season.
