TULSA — The McAlester Lady Buffaloes faced a tall task in Tuesday’s 5A volleyball regional tournament at Cascia Hall. Literally, a tall task: all but one of the Cascia Hall Commandos stood taller than the Lady Buffs’ tallest player.
Facing the height, strength and resolve of the defending state champions, the Lady Buffs just couldn’t measure up. The Commandos swept the Lady Buffs in three sets, winning 25-7, 25-10 and 25-9, and ending the Lady Buffs’ season at 8-15.
“We were just out-matched on the court,” McAlester coach Chad Waller said. “Every one of their girls played club ball, and they’re real serious about it.”
