Pitt 8 Tournament schedule released

McALESTER — Brackets for the 2014 Pitt 8 Tournament have been released. The tournament starts Jan. 20 and continues through Jan. 25, with all games taking place at the Southeast Expo Center in McAlester.

Stuart enters the tournament as the top-seeded boys’ team. The Hornets play Indianola in the first round Jan. 25 at 5:50 p.m.

Kiowa enters as the top-seeded girls’ team. The Cowgirls play Indianola Jan. 25 at 4:30 p.m.

The Hornets have won the last four Pitt 8 Tournaments, while the Cowgirls last won it in 2012. The Savanna Lady Bulldogs, this year’s three-seed, won the 2013 tournament.

The Kiowa Cowboys will be the second seed in the boys’ tournament, followed by the Canadian Cougars in third and the Savanna Bulldogs in fourth. The Pittsburg Lady Panthers are seeded second in the girls’ tournament, and the Stuart Lady Hornets are seeded fourth.

Crowder’s boys will be seeded fifth, as will Canadian’s girls. Haileyville’s boys will be seeded sixth, as will Crowder’s girls.

Pittsburgs’ boys will be seeded seventh, as will Haileyville’s girls. Indianola will be seeded eighth in both brackets.
