KREBS — The Pittsburg County chapter of the Oklahoma State Alumni organization drew 117 former Cowboys and Cowgirls to Pete’s Place in Krebs for Thursday’s Cowboy Caravan fundraiser. Former Cowboys and Cowgirls got to pose with OSU mascot Pistol Pete, bid on autographed balls and other memorabilia, and talk with OSU's football defensive coordinator and girls’ basketball coach.
The event raised $3,124, according to chapter member Richard Gorman. All proceeds went towards scholarships for students from Pittsburg County heading to OSU.
Speakers at the Cowboy Caravan included:
• Larry Reece: executive director of development and major gifts for OSU athletics and public address announcer at OSU football and girls’ basketball games.
• Jim Littell: OSU girls' basketball coach.
• Glenn Spencer: OSU football defensive coordinator.
The night also featured live and silent auctions and a round of cheers led by members of OSU's national-champion spirit squad, including McAlester graduate Bethany Andrews and Savanna graduate Chris Maxcey.
