District tourneys begin for softball and baseball

McALESTER — STILL TO COME:

Stuart baseball hosts Indianola on Wednesday. Because Pittsburg dropped out of the district tournament, Stuart and Indianola will play a best-of-three-series starting at noon.

Kiowa’s baseball team will be at Stonewall on Thursday, playing Mill Creek at 3 p.m. The loser of that game faces Stonewall at 5 p.m., while the winner face Stonewall at 7 p.m. The championships start Friday at 4 p.m.

Kiowa softball plays at Stuart on Thursday, with Stuart playing Haileyville at 12 p.m. Kiowa plays Cameron at 1:15 p.m., followed by the semifinals and championships.

Crowder softball will host Gore in a best-of-three series on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. Canadian had been in Crowder’s district but has since dropped out.

Hartshorne softball heads to Latta for district play on Thursday. Hartshorne plays Konawa at 2 p.m., followed by Latta vs. the loser of that game at 3:15 p.m.

Latta will play the winner of Hartshorne-Konawa at 4:30 p.m., with up to two more games after to determine the district champion.

Wilburton will be at Holdenville on Thursday, beginning district play against Eufaula at 2 p.m. As with most three-team districts, Holdenville will play the loser of the first game at 3:30 p.m., then the winner at 5 p.m., followed by the championships.
