QUINTON — If you’re going to watch the Quinton High School softball team, make sure you arrive on time: Their games can end quite quickly.
Just ask Crowder or Howe, two teams that suffered double-digit, run-rule defeats at the hands of the Savages. QHS opened its season with a 13-1 win over Crowder on Tuesday, then split a double-header Thursday, losing to Panama, 8-5, and run-ruling Howe, 13-0.
Junior first baseman Kristen Crawford led the Savages, batting 9-for-10 with five doubles, nine runs batted in, five runs scored and three stolen bases.
“She’s been hitting the ball really well the first three games,” said Quinton coach Tara Satterfield. “She hits real well with runners in scoring position.”
