The 2013 Annual Pink Ribbon Luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Southeast Expo Center.
Some 350 attendees are expected to attend year’s luncheon where guests usually dress in shades of pink in support of breast cancer awareness, according to organizer Brytnee Hamond.
This years speaker is survivor Vicki Olson Johnson. Her topic will be, “Do you know if you have the breast cancer gene?”
Olson Johnson is a register nurse who discuss the importance of testing genetic testing for breast cancer. She will also give insight into her personal experience as a breast cancer survivor who has the genes for both breast cancer and for ovarian cancer and how it has affected her family and her life, Hamond said.
The Pink Ribbon Luncheon benefits Oklahoma Project Woman an organization dedicated to providing access to breast health care that will facilitate the early diagnosis and decrease the mortality of breast cancer for uninsured women with limited financial resources, according to okahomaprojectwoman.org.
Tickets for the luncheon are $35 each or $500 for a table of 8.
