DInner plans? Grab a coupon and dine out to help CASA tonight

McALESTER — Today a local restaurant will donate 10 percent of its sales to a program that fights for the rights of neglected and abused children.

Customers who bring in a special coupon to Chili’s in McAlester will help to raise money for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, according to CASA’s Director Arron WIlliams.

“With the coupon Chili’s said they will 10 percent of the sales today to CASA,” Williams said.

The coupon is available at the CASA office at 1230 S. Main Street or by emailing casaseok@sbcglobal.net.

Williams said CASA is a nonprofit organization which assists children in Pittsburg and McIntosh Counties by arranging volunteers to be appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children.

“Each volunteer is usually assigned one child at a time and stay with the child until a safe home is found,” he said.

Meanwhile, Williams said he has high hopes for today’s fundraiser.

“We are hoping to raise at least $500 this month,” he said.

And Williams said he’s hoping to make this fundraiser a monthly event.

“We haven’t done this fundraiser for several years and we are hoping for a great turnout,” he said.
