Jeese Belvin served as a House page for State Rep. Donnie Condit from March 11-14, 2013.
Belvin, 18, arrived at the Oklahoma State Capitol on the morning of March 11 for an orientation session, before beginning page duties for the day. On March 12, in the evening, pages participated in the House Page Mock Legislature program, where Belvin served as Governor.
The first mock bill debated required students to submit to drug testing for participation in secondary school athletics and extracurricular activities and created a drug counseling program. The second dealt with school security, allowing certain individuals to carry a handgun on school property.
“Jesse is an extremely talented young student,” said Condit, D-McAlester. “He is a prime example of the wonderful students we have here in Stuart.”
