Krebs man pleads guilty to rape

McALESTER — A Krebs man has pleaded guilty to raping an 11-year-old girl.

Eufilio Hernandez Gomez, 27, pleaded guilty Monday to one felony count of first-degree rape of a child younger than 14 and was sentenced to 40 years, with the last 15 years suspended. He was also ordered to attend sex offender counseling during his incarceration and, once released, must register as a sex offender. Gomez was also fined $915.

Prior to rape charges being filed in the case, Gomez was arrested on allegations of assault and was transferred to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on June 23, 2011, according to Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford.

Gomez appeared before a federal immigration judge on July 5, 2011, and was subsequently deported back to Mexico on July 8. Then, on Dec. 1, 2011, the Pittsburg County District Attorney’s office issued an extradition warrant for Gomez.

In November 2012, Gomez was captured in Arizona after he came back into the United States, Bedford told the News-Capital. “Authorities there found out he had an arrest warrant in Oklahoma,” Bedford said, and he was transferred back to Pittsburg County to face charges.

Gomez is currently in custody at the Pittsburg County jail and is waiting to be transferred to an Oklahoma Department of Corrections facility.
