Take McAlester Back events scheduled

McALESTER — Narconon Arrowhead has teamed with Pride In McAlester to host a fun-filled day downtown Oct.  23 to kick off Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week. Also partnering in the event are Main Street, the Chamber of  Commerce, Hope House and Westwood Construction. Here is a list of events set Oct. 23:

8 a.m.-6 p.m. Free OKLA Theater Balcony Tours

(OKLA Theater, Choctaw Ave)

Vendors and Activities for the Family (Choctaw Ave)

8 a.m. 10k/5k/Family Relay (check in at the McAlester Courthouse)

9 a.m. 10k/5k/Family Relay – runs begin

10:30-11 a.m. Race Awards Presentation (Main Stage, Choctaw Ave.)

11 to 11:30 a.m. History of Red Ribbon Week (Main Stage)

11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Drug Free Pledge (Main Stage)

12 to 12:30 p.m. McAlester Community Theatre Presentation (Main Stage)

12:30 to 1 p.m. Law Enforcement Demonstration (Main Stage)

1 to 2 p.m. Best Boston Cream Pie Contest (Choctaw Ave)

1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Halloween Costume Swap (Granny’s Café building on 1st Street – 1⁄2 block N. of Choctaw)

2 to 3 p.m. Best Salsa Contest (Choctaw Ave)

3 to 4 p.m. Blue Mountain Music (Main Stage)

4 to 4:15 p.m.  Announcement of Cream Pie & Salsa Contest Winners and Raffle Ticket Drawing (Main Stage)

4:15 to 6 p.m. Karaoke Contest (Main Stage)

6 to 7 p.m. Press Conference at Masonic Temple

7 to 9:30 p.m. OKLA Theater Benefit Concert featuring Jana Jae, Michael Ginsburg, Kathy Brod, and Kevin Priddle. The Master of Ceremonies will be comedian Argus Hamilton.
