OHP reports double fatality accident in Atoka County

Here’s a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol:

FATALITY COLLISION OCCURRED AT 0750 HOURS ON 032409, 3 MILES EAST AND 4 MILES SOUTH OF TUSHKA ON A COUNTY ROAD IN ATOKA COUNTY. VEHICLE 1: 1994 CHEVROLET DRIVEN BY ETHAN L. CALLICOAT, WHITE MALE 21 YOA. ADDRESS: ATOKA, OK. PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE WITH HEAD, TRUNK-INTERNAL, TRUNK-EXTERNAL, ARM AND LEG INJURIES. TRANSPORTED TO BROWN’S FUNERAL HOME IN ATOKA, OK. MEDICAL EXAMINER STEWART WALKER RESPONDED TO THE FUNERAL HOME. PINNED FOR APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES, FREED BY BROWN’S FUNERAL HOME.

PASSENGER 1: SHYATESA M. TENEQUER (SIC), WHITE FEMALE 20 YOA. ADDRESS: ATOKA, OK. PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE WITH HEAD, TRUNK-INTERNAL, TRUNK-EXTERNAL, ARM AND LEG INJURIES. TRANSPORTED TO BROWN’S FUNERAL HOME IN ATOKA, OK. MEDICAL EXAMINER STEWART WALKER RESPONDED TO THE FUNERAL HOME. PINNED FOR APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES, FREED BY BROWN’S FUNERAL HOME.

WHAT HAPPENED: VEHICLE WAS NORTHBOUND ON COUNTY ROAD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, DRIVER LOST CONTROL AND RAN OFF EAST SIDE OF ROADWAY AND STRUCK TREE.

SEATBELTS: EQUIPPED, IN USE BY DRIVER AND PASSENGER

WEATHER: CLOUDY

ROADWAY: DRY, 2-LANE ASPHALT
