McALESTER — A McAlester man recently pleaded guilty to multiple counts of assault with intent to kill.

Jared Shane Moore, 26, was charged July 3 in Pittsburg County District Court with three counts of assault with intent to kill and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

On May 3, Moore pleaded guilty to all counts except one charge of assault with intent to kill. He was sentenced to 15 years, with the last 10 years suspended. He was also fined $1,365. The sentence was part of a plea bargain agreement between Moore and the District 18 District Attorney’s Office.

According to court records, Moore arrived home, at 1200 E. Pierce Ave., in the early morning hours July 3 and hit his roommate, Casey Ford, with a frying pan. He also allegedly threatened Ford and his other roommates, Ashton McKibben and Felicia Benson, with a knife.

According to a police affidavit, Moore chased McKibben with the knife and told his roommates “they were going to die tonight.”

After speaking with all the witnesses, including Moore’s girlfriend, Skylar Bonaparte, and some of her children who were at home at the time of the alleged assault, police arrested Moore.

Moore has been in custody at the Pittsburg County jail since July 3, 2012. He will remain in custody there until he is transported to an Oklahoma Department of Corrections facility.
