Two local men were recently accused of making methamphetamine in an apartment.
Mark Wayne Crawley, 47, and Michael Tyler Lovelace, 20, both of McAlester, were charged April 22 in Pittsburg County District Court with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of public housing. They were also charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to court records, local authorities executed a search warrant April 18 in a unit in a Park Avenue apartment building. During the search, police allegedly found numerous items associated with making methamphetamine.
Both Crawley and Lovelace were arrested and, if convicted, are facing up to life in prison.
