Man dies after May explosion in Eufaula

McALESTER — One Eufaula man is dead and another is in good condition after a May explosion at a Eufaula sand blasting plant, officials say.

McIntosh County Undersheriff Dwayne Hall confirmed that Donald “Don” Wayne Hamilton Jr., 40,  delivery driver for Ford Sand Blasting. in Eufaula died Sunday.

The other victim, Micheal Cox is reported to be in good condition according to McIntosh County Emergency Management Director Wesley Dawson.

The men were critically injured May 7 after an explosion at Ford Sand Blasting in Eufaula.

The men were airlifted flown to Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa where Hamilton later died.

Hall said there is no criminal investigation at this time however the federal Occupational Safety and Health Association is investigating the case.
