McAlester baby-sitter accused of leaving children alone to go to casino

McALESTER — A McAlester woman who was entrusted to baby-sit a 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy is accused of leaving the children alone in her home while she went to the casino.

Toni A. Webb, 38, was charged April 18 in Pittsburg County District Court with two counts of child neglect.

According to court records, police received a report that Webb had left the children alone in her home on multiple occasions when she left the residence. On April 17, police went to Webb’s residence and “found a young girl holding a blanket standing near to the front door and a young boy in one of the bedrooms laying on the bed watching television,” a police affidavit states.

Police then allegedly located the children’s babysitter, Webb, at the Choctaw Casino, according to the affidavit. Webb was arrested and transported to the Pittsburg County jail.

On April 19, Webb posted a $50,000 bail bond and was released from custody. She was due back in court Friday at 9 a.m. to face charges. In seeking comment, a phone number for Webb could not be located by presstime Thursday. Also, an attorney for Webb was not listed on court records by presstime Thursday.
