The Casual Gourmet Club recently met for thier April meeting at the Visit J. G. Puterbaugh House and Garrard Ardenium.
Hostesses Karla Schmidt, Vickie Cherry and Dot Thompson used arrangements of hot pink and lime tulips as the theme for an indoor picnic luncheon.
At luncheon, each place setting had pink and lime green silkscreen paper bags with chicken salad wraps wrapped in pink and lime green ribbons.
The side dishes of fresh fruit and spiced vegetables were wrapped in separate containers also with pink and green colors.
The dessert was a pink arrangement of cupcakes in the shape of a huge flower, along with spiced tea and gourmet coffee.
Schmidt presented a program about “Ina Garten — Barefoot Contessa” who host of a network cooking show.
Margaret Fields director conducted the business meeting and welcomed new member, Debbie Nelson.
The minutes were read by Susan Kanard, the treasurer's report was given by Nancy Gates and the Sunshine report was given byJudy Goodyear with special mention of Cheryl James.
Fields reminded the members that The Great American Clean Up, ran every weekend in April.
She said the group is continuing to collect change at every meeting for Relay for Life to be held September 27 and 28.
Casual Gourmet provided fresh fruit for the Child Abuse Prevention Task Force Conference held April 19 at the Expo Center, according to Goodyear.
Also during the meeting members were asked to get their tickets early for the Fortnightly Spring Banquet at the Country Club, May 16 at 11:30 a.m. Hostesses for the banquet are members of Cornerstone Creations and the Literary Club, Goodyear said.
It was also announced during the meeting that Thompson will be the Fortnightly voting delegateat the GFWC-OK convention in Oklahoma City, May 3rd and 4th.
A yearly audit of the books will be done by Joyce Bridges and Goodyear, chaired by Gates.
Hostesses gifts including a green fern won by Debbie Brown and a miniature terrarium won by Debbie McCauley.
The next meeting is set for May 21 with the theme of “Wolfgang Puck-Casual Outdoors.”
The next meeting will be at the home of Ada Nell Ward.
Hostesses will be Ward and Betty Bruckner.
Lynn Medley will be announced as a new member at that meeting.
Also attending the April meeting were Janis Allford, June Boyd, Jan McBee, Cecilia McMahan, Sue Miller and Joyce Bridges.
