A McAlester real estate developer’s plans for a new housing development was approved by the McAlester Planning Commission Tuesday night.
The McAlester Planning Commission met Tuesday for a regular meeting at McAlester City Hall.
Real Estate developer Dave Grantham and Civil Engineer Andrew Sherman were at the meeting.
“We are hoping they will approve it tonight,” Grantham said.
City Manager Pete Stasiak recommended that the commission approve the 38 lot subdivision set to be built on Hardy Springs Road.
“It does meet all the requirements and it meets or exceeds the storm water plan for McAlester, Stasiak said.
“The engineering department has signed off on every one of the items,” he said.
“This has been a through review, we recommend approval.”
After a vote, the commission unanimously approved the plat.
The plans will now be presented to the McAlester City Council at their next meeting for final approval.
With a final approval by the council, Grantham said road construction for the project could begin in May.
Present at Tuesday’s meeting was Chairman Mark Emmons and members Robert Way, Ross Eaton, Karl Scrifes, Harvey Bollinger and Karen Stoubaugh, John McNally, Denise Lewis and Justin Few.
The commission meets the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.
